Israeli Forces Conduct West Bank Raids, Arrests, Home Demolition

(MENAFN) Israeli military operations across the West Bank resulted in multiple arrests and a demolition of property, according to local officials and Palestinian reports.

In coordinated raids across several cities, including Nablus, Bethlehem, Hebron, and Ramallah, Israeli forces detained at least 17 Palestinians. Those arrested reportedly included two women and a child. During the operations, homes were searched and personal belongings were damaged, according to statements from local prisoner advocacy groups.

Separately, the town of Turmus Ayya was placed under full closure after Israeli forces blocked all access points. Local officials said military units used bulldozers to seal entrances with earth barriers, cutting off both main and secondary roads and effectively isolating the community. Movement inside the town was heavily restricted, disrupting schools and public services.

Reports from local authorities also indicated that agricultural areas were affected, with access to farmland restricted and olive trees damaged in nearby zones. Officials described the situation as a complete paralysis of daily activity within the town.

In another incident, a two-story Palestinian home in the area of Shuqba was demolished by Israeli forces. Local representatives said the structure was destroyed on the grounds that it had been built without official authorization. The property reportedly included additional facilities such as recreational structures.

The developments come amid ongoing tensions in the West Bank, where military raids, property demolitions, and movement restrictions have been reported with increasing frequency. Israeli authorities typically cite security concerns and building permit regulations as justification for such actions, while Palestinian officials describe them as part of a broader pattern of pressure on local communities.
